Valio
Early morning rousing was never her sort of thing, instead sleeping to mid-morning was the norm, she could sleep through the glowing dawns, and chilly uncomfortable mornings. Preferring to instead wake closer to noon where the already warm day greeted her, insects and animals alike already started in their day. Even the tiniest of mammalian creatures had already scurried their way into their burrows, but even she knew that they would come again at nightfall. While this sleeping pattern was a genetic trait she'd inherited from her father, it served its own purpose.
Why it decided to rear its ugly head when she became an adult instead of hitting in chickhood was beyond her.
Deep sleeper? Not when too much noise is close by.
Yes. That is how it usually was; until today that is...
After falling asleep late, deep within the cave she called her humble abode, the red sailback had been abruptly awoken from her slumber mere hours later. The thundering of feet and panicking calls of hadrosaurs had been close enough to cause a racket, and the vibrations of all their noise alone was enough to wake her up. Low rumbling growls were released, blue eyes opening, while her head turned and raised toward the light at the entryway that lead into the spino-cave she called home. Giving a quick shake of the long crocodile like snout, muscles moving in a stiff stretch of limbs, arms and legs alike.
Earthquake? No, there was no continuing rumbles of the heaving earth below her feet. No smells of upturned dirt or strange sensations.
Predator? Nostrils flared, but nothing threatening of the sort was detected... nothing seemed alarming..
Except for the alarm calls of hadrosaurs. Wonderful.
Don't they know that there are others out there trying to get some sleep?!
Weight was heaved up, legs taking the massive predator towards the light, and eventually towards the outside. Massive feet propelling the young Spinosaurus forward into the brightness, and for a moment, she was temporarily blind. Although those blue eyes adjusted easily to the change in scenery and light, she could do better with scent. The air was chilly out here, and if there was any fog left from the night prior to her crashing hours before the crack of dawn to sleep, she saw very little evidence left of it now.
However, the scents that lingered in the area were not predatory, from the distant calls though...definitely Hadrosaurs.
Val had no interest in them, unless they where dead on a river bank, lake shore, or she was desperately hungry enough to ever attempt hunting one. Nostrils flared while nares drew in further scents and signals, then released in a violent snort and another shake of her head. There was another nearby after all. Predator. Acrocanthosaurus.
Great. Probably his or her's fault all the noise woke her up.
However, so long as another predator didn't threaten her, or her home, she had no ill will against neighbors or harmless travelers, it was the smaller creatures that often did more harm than good. Those tiny thieves; the raptors, could be the worst of the lot and their reputation proceeds them well.
Now if they could only learn not to make so much damn noise!
Yet, a grumbling rumble was released, she was up now. Why go back to sleep? Might as well start the day, she would probably just get to sleep earlier tonight instead. Man her sleep schedule was going to be fucked. All at once movement began, while those lengthy jaws parted to release a yawn, she could use some prehistoric coffee. Time to hit the biggest source of water in the area! Time to head for the lake.
Traveling from the rocky hillside and cave she called home into the open terrain was not a difficult feat, and the sun's rays could already be felt on her hide. The warmth sending wonderful sensations from sail to feet. In passing through that open terrain, she was sure to spot the chaos that startled her morning...
There was an Acro, and the source of all the racket. The nosiest hadrosaurs in the damn world...
ooc: omg please forgive the crappy grammar and terrible post. D:
